Global Warming

The spring now began to come to snow polar regions of the North two weeks earlier, than before. Magazine Current Biology publishes results of research of influence of global warming for a life at high latitudes.

Employees of the Danish National scientific research institute of an environment of University Aarhus have carried out enological research, i.e. have compared, when such characteristic events as occurrence of butterflies, the arrival and a laying of birds, blooming of flowers ,and so on ,occurred before and now.

On the average, last ten years the spring time occurs for 14,5 days earlier, than before. It is considered to be one of the most sensitive attributes of change of temperatures.

Scientists have been especially surprised by such change in the Arctic region where the summer is very short and from thawing a snow to returning frosts passes only 3-4 months.

Under the testimonies of the scientists who have gathered session of the American Geophysical Union .process of warming on the Earth really has global character, informs CNN.

In particular, Greenland experiences the first wave concerning warm weather since 1930. For last year the area of thawing of an ice cover has increased for 16 percent, that is the greatest parameter for 24 years of measurements.

Ices of Arctic ocean were reduced to 4 percent. Such reduction has not been registered for all period of supervision since 1978.

In tundra bushes succeed in those areas ,on which only 50 years ago did not grow any vegetation.

If these changes to consider separately they only testify about warming a climate in concrete regions. However, taken as a whole, they incontestably prove global process of warming, consider scientists.

Behind warming there can be changes of air and sea streams, but the activity of the human, which has resulted, for example, to formation of ozone gaps, also refers to it. The human certainly influences an environment, however a degree of importance of this influence is not certain yet by scientists opinion.

The southern ocean began to absorb less carbonic gas from an atmosphere, than earlier, informs BBC News.

As it became known to scientists, for last 24 years the amount of carbonic gas absorbed by ocean has not changed, while the amount of its emission has grown for 40 percent. It means, that in an atmosphere the quantity of excessive CO2 increases, that in turn lead to acceleration of process of global warming. This effect was expected by scientists, however it has attacked 40 years before anticipated term.

The reason of decrease in volumes of carbonic gas absorbed by ocean, in opinion of scientists, became the dizziness which has increased from 1958. The exhaustion of supplies of ozone in the top layers of an atmosphere and recent change of a climate because of which tropics began to get warm more strongly, and Southern ocean - is weaker, have led to change of circulation of atmospheric mass in region, as has caused strengthening winds.

The most part of the carbonic gas absorbed by ocean is on the big depth, however because of increase in frivolity ocean waters began to mix up more strongly. As a result on the surface stratums of water were sated with carbonic gas and cannot absorb more it from an atmosphere.

Half of the carbonic gas allocated in an atmosphere of the Earth, remains in it. Other half is absorbed by world ocean and terrestrial biosphere. From all gas absorbed by ocean on a share of Southern ocean it is about 15 percent.
