In Japan will be carried out the tests for studying the practical application of technology storage of carbon dioxide under the sea bottom for purposes of struggle against the global warming.
Scientists of all world investigate ways of compression of the carbon dioxide, produced by plants, and its storing under the bottom of ocean. But there are the unresolved questions, for example, high cost and probable influence of this method on an environment.
The Ministry of the economy, trade and industry of Japan has created the committee for resolution of these questions, and on Wednesday has published its report. In the report it is indicated that the extended experiments, approximately 10 times exceeding the scales of present tests, should be lead to store more than 100 thousand tons of carbon dioxide under the sea bottom.
In it is indicated that the large-scale tests must allow specialists to create the most effective and contemptible technology, and also to find the best ways of detecting the possible outflow of carbon dioxide in the sea.
Being based on this report, the ministry will make intensive experiments, from the April of next year, with the purpose to bring in the action new technology before2015.
