In discussions about the reasons of global changes of a climate new turn is noted. An essence of a problem: whether really plants allocate in an atmosphere metane in quantities which are capable to aggravate anthropogenous warming of a climate?
global warming
In opinion of Franc Kepplera (Frank Keppler) from Planck’s institute Maksa (Germany) and Thomas Rokmanna (Thomas Rockmann) from the Utrecht institute of sea and atmospheric researches (Holland), plants really bring the essential contribution to the further development. However botanik Volume Djuk (Tom Dueck) and its colleagues from Plant Research International in Vageningene (Holland) have carried out researches with use of more exact analytical methods and have not found proofs in favour of this position, informs Scientific American.

As have shown results of this work, plants allocate very insignificant quantity of metane in an atmosphere. Thus, F.Kepplera and T.Rekmanna’s hypothesis has not received experimental acknowledgement and it, undoubtedly, will lead to a new coil of discussions about motive forces of modern global changes of a climate.

In the center of this discussion there was a question on a methodical correctness of the applied experimental methods. As considers F.Keppler, use in T.Djuka’s work of an isotope of carbon Ñ14 atoms of carbon and tracking of ways of its migration in system “plant-atmosphere” can lead to unpredictable changes of a metabolism of the plants.

On the other hand, T.Djuk specifies, that radioactive metan carbon in researches on physiology of plants many years and as it has been repeatedly shown are applied, does not render influence on normal ability to live. Besides in opinion of the scientist, group Kepplera grew up skilled plants in inadequate conditions - at the limited exchange of air with Wednesday and at influence of some stress-factors. As a result of a plant could “decay” simply in conditions of experience, allocating thus in an environment significant amounts of metane.

Thus, as consider T.Djuk and its colleagues, F.Kepplera and T.Rekmanna’s conclusions are incorrect, as are under construction on results of methodically incorrect experiments. However it is not clear (on what specifies Keppler), than it is possible to explain for example that fact, that frequently in air above tropical woods of the maintenance of metane considerably above an average. So, discussion about the contribution of plants to a hotbed effect proceeds. And before its logic end the valid role of a vegetative cover in global changes of a climate remains a riddle.
