Group Metallica has joined participant who will take part in a series of “Live Earth “ concerts planned for July, 7th, 2007, is written at the website of Metallica .
Live Earth is initiated by The Climate Group, Stop Climate Chaos, the Alliance for Climate Protection, and other international NGOS to move individuals, corporations and governments to take action directed on struggle against global warming.Chair of the Alliance for Climate Protection and a partner of Live Earth is former vice-president of the USA, Albert Gore .
On July, 7th, 2007 , concerts will pass simultaneously in London, New York, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Johannesburg, Rio de Janeiro and Hamburg.
Metallica will take part in the London action. Except this group, in Wembley Stadium will participate : Beastie Boys, Genesis, Bloc Party, Black Eyed Peas, Duran Duran, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers ,Madonna, Corinne Bailey Rae, Damien Rice, David Gray, James Blunt, John Legend, Kasabian, Keane, Paolo Nutini, Pussycat Dolls , Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Spinal Tap, Terra Naomi and Metallica. The concerts will be broadcast on the BBC in the UK and on more than 120 networks around the world. Live Earth will reach people in every corner of the globe by online live streaming
After the event finishes, members of Metallica plan to make accessible an exclusive download of Metallica’s Live Earth performance ,” for the minimal fee “. All money raised will benefit four climate charities hand-selected by the band: Sierra Club, The Apollo Alliance, WWF and Rainforest Action Network.

Very interesting, they could do a better job if they held the concert at their home base and had it televised saving all that jet fuel they will be using traveling to the show.
