The rain shower in the UK all last week, became record for more than two-centuries history of weather supervision over the United Kingdom, writes newspaper Guardian.
Bickering of rain have more than twice exceeded seasonal average indices. From May to July, 2007 at the island have spilled 382,4 millimeters of rainwater. The previous record has been established in 1789 when the quantity of precipitation has reached 349,1 millimeters.
For the past three months in Gloucestershire and the nearby counties precipitation have made 320 percent of standard precipitation. The bad weather has increased for three percent loading to a national power supply system of the UK .
Rains have caused flooding in 32 counties of the UK - from Devon up to Yorkshire. The water level has exceeded record parameters of 1914 , more than at 25 millimeters.
As Peter Stott , climatologist of British metrology center ,has declared rains of such intensity will be more and more frequent phenomenon on islands in the next two hundred years, because of global climatic changes. Thus each rain will be more intensive as the heated atmosphere can carry on more waters. English weather becomes similar to Japanese, and in the south of the UK will be established the climate similar to the continental Europe. By the end of XXI century, by forecasts of climatologist, rise in temperature in region will make from 2 to 8 degrees of Celsius. Meteorologists predict, that bad weather will hold on the British isles to the beginning of August, and in a southeast of the country still will spill more than 25 millimeters of rainwater.
The British emergency services on Wednesday, July, 25th, evacuated inhabitants of many houses in university grounds Oxford. The river Thames has overflow banks, which has begun as a result of the flooding ,the strongest for last 60 years in the UK. The water level raised during all night. According to police, the population of 250 houses is evacuated, people are sited in football stadium of Oxford. Partially is damaged electric devices, however ,as a whole, electro supply is not broken. Inhabitants of the cities located next to coast of The Thames, expect, that during day water can rise still over. In the Gloucestershire a county which most has suffered from flooding, up to 350 thousand person on the next two weeks have remained without water supply. The government has promised to give , as the help to the suffered areas 10 million £ in adding to 14 million £, in the beginning declared by prime minister Gordon Brown.
In Walham , area in the West of London, 500 thousand person have remained without light because of that water has approached too close to local electro substation, and that has appeared under threat of flooding. The city Tewkesbury has transformed to island, water has not reached only the abbey (of XII century) located on a height. There are human victims: one man was lost in the flooded basement, one teenager is registered as the missing person.
One of the largest power stations in the UK almost has not appeared flooded as a result of the flood of the river Severn caused by incessant rains.
According to the British authorities, the water level has stopped for a few centimeters up to a critical position. Saving services continue to pump out water, however attributes of that flooding will go on downturn, is not observed yet.
The substation in Walham provides with an electricity almost half million homes in Gloucestershire and in the south of the Wales.
In the central and southern England as a result of overflow of The Severn and The Avon some thousand houses are already flooded. If rains will proceed, The Thames also will overflow banks, and some areas of London and counties adjacent to capital will be flooded. As a result of flooding the essential damage is caused to road and rail network, and insurers estimate cost of insurance payments at a point of two millions £.
Meanwhile British, in a panic, makes reserve of potable water, food supplies and gasoline, and that has led to happening of deficiency of supplies in some settlements.

Reading this article from almost perpetually rainy Portland, Oregon (USA), I am amazed at what you in teh UK are suffering through - the rainfall measurements are simply astonishing!
I have long been a believer that humans have been modifying the global environment and now the planetary climate for quite some time - with accelerating, complex, and synergistic effects. Those of you in the UK are now seeing first hand what so many in the US refuse to believe - that global warming is indeed real with serious implications now present and further, far more serious ones to follow.
As I noted above, many in the USA (indeed, far too many) are confused and skeptical about global warming. Some simply do not trust science or give petroleum industry geologists equal or more credibility than actual climatologists. (A stunning feat of uncritical thinking, really). This faction seems to be about 35% of Americans.
In addition, according to several polls, another 10% of Americans say that Global Warming is God’s will and the beginning of Armegeddon (Yes, it must be quite clear now that I do in fact live in the United States).
So, it would seem that the greatest challenges to getting confused, skeptical and unsure people to take action in supporting strong governmental action and business measures that will aggressively change our laws, standards, and tax incentives (and thus dramatically reduce our carbon output) is either *resolving* or *dismissing* this large public uncertainty over (1) the causes of global warming and (2) the “reality†of global warming.
What we do need in the US is strong governmental and business leadership to fight global warming. However, I suspect that before we can get to the regulatory changes and sway the gravity of business to the fight, we will need to *move* that 40%-50% of Americans do not yet believe that we need to even do anything about global warming.
Mind you, we can win over the hearts and minds of rational, logical thinking public who can distinguish, differentiate and think critically. But for that 40-50% who are confused, skeptical, uncertain *and* who cannot understand, or *hear* what this site is teaching, I think we need a parallel approach. What if the causes of global warming and the reality of global warming don’t actually matter from a moral perspective? What if, from a moral standpoint, the debate over the causes and reality of global warming is moot? Perhaps what some might call a moral approach or a cause-effect and risk analysis argument would be helpful.
I think that one fellow - whose name I do not know - has come up with a nice, tidy argument in short video that I just posted up – review the argument presented for yourself. Then see if you agree or if you think there are flaws in the argument. Send me an email if you think there are flaws – because I can’t find any. The video leaves us with only one sane conclusion: We must, as a moral imperative and logical, rational decision for humanity and the planet, take action - massive action together - now!
Here is the link: http://www.betterworldmortgage.com/global_warming.php
Again, let me know what you think. Share and post the link if you like the video - and PLEASE send to all the Americans you know!
I believe each of us and all of us are the answer.
