Growth of emissions of hotbed gases in an atmosphere can be reduced without extreme expenses, the experts, who have gathered in Bangkok on conference of the United Nations on change of a climate, consider.
To reach it is possible, having increased use of renewed energy sources, having reduced cutting down of forests and also using energy more economically.
At conference was discussed the report of Intergovernmental group of a climate change, the third report in this year is the document, in which experts from more than 120 countries tried to define, in what will manage and what advantage this or that coordinated strategy ,in relation to global warming ,will bring.
The chief of group Radzhendra Pachauri has told, that conclusions of the report “shake”. ” The human society as a whole should change the consumer habits “, - he has told at press conference in the Thailand capital.
At the last minute the items, concerning potential of nuclear power and changes in a way of life which will allow to reduce emissions of hothouse gases in an atmosphere ,have been included in the report,.
While these emissions grow: since 1970 they have grown on 70 %, and in the nearest 25 years ,if nothing to undertake, will grow for 25 % i.e. 90 %.
” If we shall continue to live in way how we live now, we will be in serious problems “, - has emphasized Ogunlade Davidson, one of the basic authors of the report.
In the beginning of week China repeatedly tried to soften some formulations of the report, delegates spoke in a entrance hall of conference. In particular, Peking wished to clean references to such succession of events which can affect economic development of China in future perspective. However, later , Chinese delegation have joined the general opinion.
The intergovernmental group of a climate change has presented in this year other two reports: in one - defining climatic processes by the scientific principles, and in other - possible consequences of global warming.
The present report considers, how many will cost , to global economy , stabilization of emissions of hotbed gases in an atmosphere.
Deduction of concentration of carbon dioxide up to 650 pro mille, will lower gross national product on 0,2 %, is spoken in the report. Achievement of a parameter 550 pro mille will deal with 0,6 % of global gross national product.
Now ,this parameter is at a level of 425 pro mille, and many scientists consider, that for the prevention of natural cataclysms of the future, it is necessary to keep below 450 pro mille.
According to the report of the commission, realization of this aspiration of experts will cost up to 3 % of gross national product.
However to be kept at a level 450 pro mille it “is almost impossible”, considers professor Stephen Schneider from Stanford university ,California.
” Increase of temperature more than 2-3 degrees of Celsius will lead to mass disappearance of some kinds of animals, serious problems at coasts of oceans, to catastrophic thawing of glaciers, so it is better to agree now about stabilization of emissions at a level 450-550 pro mille ,to improve chances of the future “, - the scientist adds.
