You don't need money to gain happiness or to have a great time. That comes from appreciating what you do have.
You could invest it in bonds or stocks, sure. You'd wait all that time just to realize that buying more stuff doesn't make you any more happy than you were 20 years before.

You've all missed the point. It doesn't matter what you do. It's not what you get out of it it's how you enjoy yourself whilst you're doing it. Whistle while you work, you have to work either furthering your education or working on a farm. Either way sing and dance

For me comfort is having a place to live, having a car, maybe having some cash to pursue my hobbies. College has stripped me off two of those elements, but I hope I will be paid back.
