Yes you can see articles about the fires by googling "quintewest CFL EOL Fire" and "air raid CFL fire" (nasty picture of a burnt CFL in this one) and you should do research on CFL fires I'm seeing more and more and more about this.....

Come on! Getting rid of incandescent bulbs will only reduce total emissions by less than 1 percent. So not only it won't do much, but CFLs are junk. They are known to catch fire because the ballasts are made of electronic components that are placed under great heat stress when you try to make CFLs smaller. Thats why 'puters have fans. Also the CFL color quality isn't as good as incs, even newer ones. Energy saving halogens are the best and they can approach CFLs in efficiency.

2 Things i am not an envirmentalist.
I don't believe in global warming is caused by humans...but
There are 2 types of these bulbs...the one i hate is the kind that take like maybe 3 mins to even get bright and are dim as hell.
the other is the kind that lights up super fast and is bright as the sun thats the kind I like.
these bulbs are an alright Idea as long as they are the ones that are bright and light up right away

I just burn baby seal blubber in my oil lamps, after I club them to death. I have to leave my Diesel running it gets cold up here, especially at the oil rig where we keep spilling all the crude. Good thing we got plastic bottles of water to use to clean our shoes off from all the crude we spill. We just burn the plastic bottles afterward, no mess to clean up. Dump all the unburned mess into the Bering sea. So how's your little bulb going to save what?

You have no idea what you are talking about. Get an education beyond that which can be found on fox news or any other republican website and realize that the amount of mercury in these bulbs is so small that so long as they are cleaned up, they will not hurt you
