Your not getting the point. The point is one day robots will do it faster and better, without the need to program it before. Some prototypes already have the ability to learn for themselves.

But why does she look like she's built to lift cars? Mix Project Aiko's looks, optical systems and hand with Hanson Robotics conversational intelligence and facial movements, the "Flame Robot" walking skills and Wowwee's Rovio for in-house GPS-positioning and you'll already have something that'll work. Just a little bit of investment money, and this is no longer a dream, but a reality. I'm sure you could sell the first ones for the price of a car, then lower the price as the market explodes.

Uuuh, my iRobot Roomba robotic vacuum is American. OK, guess it's not produced in America, but.. :)

Because America sucks. The country never makes products of its own and it always relies on other countries to make stuff. Don't expect America to make any kind of cool technology.

How come Americans don't make robots like these?
quelita28 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
We all need one like that to help us with
our household chores. These robots should be
mass produced in the United States as well.
Women that work or are housekeepers really
need these robots and so do the elderly.

One step closer for Rosie the robot maid.

you know what is very ironic. if you want a robot which can carry your plate back to the kitche, it takes months to programme and test it out when it only takes you 20 seconds to do it yourself! |
